
CGU is sponsoring 10 Qualified Practising Insurance Brokers (QPIBs) to undertake NIBA College’s Certified Professional Insurance Broker program, a CPD program specially designed to meet the needs of experienced brokers who have attained this level of membership.
The program covers eight modules in total, with each module providing eight hours of CPD. By doing two or more modules a year, a broker can attain a significant number of points towards their annual CPD requirements.
The eight modules cover the client management and leadership skills that have been identified in research with NIBA members as the most useful areas of ongoing professional training for qualified brokers. The scholarship covers full funding of the eight modules and scholarship holders are expected to undertake at least two modules per year.

Those brokers that complete all 8 modules will be eligible for the award of NIBA member designation, Certified Professional Insurance Broker (CPIB) in recognition of their upgraded skills and knowledge to a higher professional level.
Importantly, completed CPIB modules can be used as credit towards the higher level national qualification, Advanced Diploma of Insurance Broking.
To apply for the NIBA-CGU CPIB scholarship you must have been broking for at least six years and a NIBA QPIB of at least two years’ standing.
