
A seminar aimed at furthering YPs' understanding of their OH&S obligations and Duty of Care to others in the workplace under the new Federal Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Laws will take place at Allianz HQ on 28 February.
The new WHS legislation came into play on 1 January 2012. The seminar will explain the legislation and responsibilities, and examine prosecutions, consultation and risk management issues associated with it.
There are two guest speakers: Patricia Baxter is a senior trainer and consultant at AdvanceOHS. Drawing on her broad experience gained in a variety of fields including construction, telecommunications, customer service and counselling, she brings her skills together to create an environment conducive to learning.
Ahmed Hamodeh is a director and senior consultant at Advance OHS. He has over 10 years' experience in WHS, specialising in training, auditing and consultancy, and is an approved WorkCover trainer.
The seminar will last for an hour, with networking drinks to follow at 5pm.
