Warren Tickle Award winner back from London trip

IRP Online 16 Apr 2012

Luke Goss, Blue Broking's State Manager - WA, has just returned from a trip to London to experience the international insurance market. The all-expenses paid trip, which includes flights, accommodation and spending money to the tune of $10,000, was part of the prize after Goss was named the 2011 Warren Tickle Memorial Award winner.

The national award, sponsored by Vero, is the most prestigious award in the business for brokers aged under 35. It recognises the achievements of young insurance brokers who exhibit an outstanding level of professionalism and integrity. Winning, or being nominated, confers great prestige on individuals and their companies.

Entries are judged first at state level, with the five regional finalists put forward to contest the top prize, which will be announced at the 2012 NIBA Convention in October. The $10,000 package for the winner includes a trip to London including two economy airfares, five nights’ accommodation, a three-day educational program to experience the international insurance market plus spending money.

Ahead of his trip, Goss told IRP online: "Preparing your nomination application and going through the interview process can give you a good indication of where you are in your career. It will be rewarding in itself and you never know where it can take you from there."

To be eligible for this award, candidates must be under 35 years of age, be a member of NIBA College and hold the designation of Associate or QPIB. In addition, they must have completed the Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and have spent a minimum of three of the last five years in Australia.

Interested candidates need to provide a submission showing evidence of exceptional service in the Insurance Broking industry, demonstrating commitment to personal development and teamwork. Submissions must be in by COB on 31 May 2012.
