NIBA Convention to hit Melbourne

NIBA’s 2015 Convention is primed to bring some leading thinkers, both in and outside of the insurance industry, to Melbourne.

With registration opening next week, a host of high profile speakers have been announced, with the Convention themed around NIBA’s three key principles – Community, Representation and Professionalism.

Topics confirmed so far include:

  • Terrorism
  • How to thrive as an authorised representative
  • Client loyalty and referrals
  • Cyber-crime
  • Succeeding in a soft market

The event will of course also feature NIBA’s famed social events, as well as the announcement of the winners of the Broker of the Year and Warren Tickle Memorial Award winners.

Other highlights include the bestowment of the fiercely contested General Insurer of the Year Award, as well as the Student and Trainee of the Year.

There will even be a special acknowledgement of the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, with Dr Brendan Nelson, the Director of the Australian War Memorial.

Meanwhile, digital disruption thought leader Rachel Botsman has been confirmed as a returning speaker, after her keynote presentation last year was one of the highest-rated NIBA Convention sessions ever.

“Rachel speaks so well on subjects that are entirely relevant for our audience, so it was an easy decision to invite her back,” Booth says.

“She is one of the most highly-rated speakers we’ve ever had at the Convention and it’s a privilege for us to be able to welcome her for the second year running. We think delegates are in for a treat.”
