Top 10 brokers of 2014 named

The full line-up of finalists for NIBA’s prestigious national broker awards has been confirmed, after brokers gathered in Perth last week to name Western Australia’s best brokers of 2014.

Rick Post, from Centrewest Insurance Brokers, is now in the running for the title of NIBA’s national Broker of the Year, after taking out the state award, edging out Gibbscorp’s Justin Geldart and Neil Watson from Willis.

Meanwhile, Aon’s Cameron Dee is in contention for the Warren Tickle Memorial Award after he took victory in the state Young Professional Broker of the Year contest, ahead of Austral Risk Services’ Callan Drummond and Luke Pratt and Sarsha Thomas from Willis.

WA broker award winners Rick Post and Cameron Dee.

Post and Dee were announced as winners at NIBA’s WA Gala Lunch, at the Crown Perth.

The winner of each national award will be announced at the 2014 NIBA Convention in Adelaide in September, along with the winners of the QBE-sponsored NIBA College Trainee of the Year and Student of the Year, the finalists of which were announced earlier this week.

Sponsored by Zurich, the Broker of the Year award earns its winner a professional development prize valued at $20,000, including international travel, meetings with Zurich top brass and tickets to leading business seminars.

The winner of the Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle Memorial Award will receive an exclusive all-expenses-paid working holiday to London where they will meet industry leaders and attend professional development sessions. The prize is worth an estimated $10,000.
