Two Adelaide brokers have been thrust into the spotlight after being named the year’s best SA/NT performers in NIBA’s prestigious broker awards.
Hundreds of brokers have gathered at Adelaide Oval for NIBA’s SA Gala Lunch this afternoon, to hear Andrew Benda named the SA/NT 2015 Broker of the Year, while the Young Professional Broker of the Year title has gone to Alex Conlon.
Benda is the owner of City Rural insurance Brokers in Eastwood and edged out Arthur J Gallagher’s Ali Conte.
Benda is now in the running for the national Broker of the Year award, to be announced at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne from 6–8 September.
Sponsored by Zurich, the national award goes to the broker deemed the year’s best role model to the broking community and brings with it a once-in-a-lifetime professional development opportunity in the US.
BJS Insurance Brokers’ Conlon took the YP title ahead of Aon’s Genevieve Mathews and Arthur J Gallagher’s Katie Stephenson (formerly of Marsh) and will now go on to compete for the national Warren Tickle Memorial Award, sponsored by Vero and also announced at the NIBA Convention.
NIBA CEO Dallas Booth says: “We continue to be highly impressed and inspired by the calibre of our regional winners and finalists.
“There are a lot of outstanding brokers in Australia and these awards really help highlight the depth of talent and the high levels of client advocacy and expertise our members offer across the country.”
The Victorian/Tasmanian regional winners were announced a month ago and more regional winners will be announced in coming weeks.
