AJG CEO departs for BMS

Andrew Godden, who has been CEO of the Australian operations of Arthur J. Gallagher since 2010, will join BMS Group as CEO of Australia and be based in Sydney.

Nick Cook, CEO of BMS, commented: “BMS has been building its reputation in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific and I’m delighted that the entrepreneurial culture we have created has allowed us to attract an individual of Andrew Godden’s calibre. Andrew shares our belief in an employee-owned business with an absolute focus on high quality customer service, which will be invaluable as we expand our reach right across the region.”

BMS, which is both an insurance and reinsurance broker, has 12 global offices and is employee-owned.

Godden has been a part of the insurance industry for over three decades and his appointment will take effect upon the expiration of his contractual obligations to Arthur J. Gallagher. He co-founded Specialist Broking Associates in 2003 and since its purchase by Arthur J. Gallagher in 2010, has been CEO of Australia for the combined business.
