Brooklyn sets eyes on PI

Brooklyn Underwriting has substantially broadened its Professional Indemnity (PI) cover, expanding to cater to professionals involved in medium-sized construction projects.

Professional Lines Underwriting Manager Rob Collyer said the move was a direct response to calls from their broking partners to expand their PI lines.

“Whilst we have been involved in this area for some time, we have tended to focus on the smaller professionals engaged in lower risk segments of the construction industry, such as suburban engineers and architects.”

“We are now excited to announce that we have broadened our risk appetite with the release of a specific policy aimed at the full scope of small- to medium-sized construction-related professionals.”

The Design and Construct Professional Indemnity Policy will cover key exposures for professionals in engineering, architecture, surveying, construction and project management, town planning, drafting and certification.

“We estimate a target market of 300,000 plus professionals are spread across these professions,” Collyer says.

Cover is up to $10 million and backed by Lloyd’s.
