“We are proud of the Insurance profession and we constantly strive to do better for the community. It is important that people outside our profession, especially young people at a cross-road in their lives see it,” Wedlock said.

Students and their parents were invited to ‘Careers Expo 2018-Come along and be inspired’ on Wednesday, 9 May 2018 at the high-profile school. Wedlock and Griggs said they “really enjoyed” interacting with the students and parents and promoting insurance.

Griggs believes that insurance needs to be prepared to meet the talent challenge of the future and work proactively to strengthen workforce to meet the needs of its diverse client base.

She said, “Attracting early talent can help our industry and profession grow. I am always happy to go out into the greater community to inform and educate about the benefits of being in this rewarding career.”

Girls and their parents turned up in large numbers to speaks to representatives from many of Sydney’s universities, TAFE and corporates.

Wedlock said he was at Loreto talking to students because he truly believes that insurance broking is a great profession and he wants to ensure that this profession continues to thrive.

“People are at the heart and soul of insurance and we need to take every opportunity to showcase that.  The critical role our Insurance Profession and brokers play is not fully understood and we need to take steps to involve, educate and enlist the finest and brightest to join us.”
