Escorts covered for mishaps

Escorts, exotic dancers and other sex workers who run their own businesses as individuals can now purchase individual liability cover.

In a first for the Australian market, AIBI in conjunction with Axis have created a public liability insurance policy specifically designed for individuals working in the adult entertainment industry.

While the Public Liability for Escorts is a retail product that won’t directly benefit brokers, AIBI Account Executive Jessica Daley says brokers will be able to inform their clients that there’s a solution available.

Brokers will also still have access to the other wholesale covers available for the adult entertainment industry through AIBI.

“We believe this cover will be particularly beneficial to high-class escorts, many of whom run their own successful business yet have previously not been able to obtain cover as an individual,” Daley says.

The insurance product protects escorts, exotic dancers, strippers and sex workers from claims by clients or other third parties for any injury caused to them or damage to their property.

Features of the product include annual premiums of $297 for $10 million coverage, or $390 for $20 million.

There is also a $1,000 excess on claims, broadform liability policy wording and an online application form.

AIBI’s other wholesale covers available for the adult entertainment industry include adult shops, adult product wholesalers, escort agencies, licensed brothels, massage parlours and strip clubs.
