Forum brings industry heavyweights together

Insurer tussle

A line-up of insurance industry heavy-hitters gathered in Sydney earlier this month to discuss the work being done to boost efficiency across the entire insurance industry.

ACORD, the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development, is a not-for-profit agency devoted to developing information standards in the insurance industry, hosted an Australian forum for the second time, with numbers doubling from last year.

Over two-and-a-half days, brokers, insurers, underwriters and software vendors gathered at the Christie Conference Centre, hearing from the likes of Allianz CIO Steve Coles on how standards add commercial value and Donnelly Insurance Brokers’ Mike Donnelly on how using standardised forms was increasing efficiency across IBNA.

ACORD Global Development Director Alan Stitzer says the forum was a huge success and many were looking forward to its return to Sydney next year.
