The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) is developing a register of interest for potential industry representative appointments to its decision-making panels, with expressions of interest open until 8 January 2016.
Members are involved in decision-making on complex financial services disputes relating to investment and insurance matters, with panels comprised of an independent Ombudsman, a consumer representative and an industry representative.
To be successful in the role, the candidate must demonstrate a capacity to act independently, a knowledge of issues and laws pertaining to the financial services industry and have experience in a decision-making role.
FOS also seeks candidates that have the ability to communicate effectively, make well informs and objective decisions, and that command the respect of relevant FOS stakeholders.
FOS welcomes applications from candidates across Australia, with travel to its offices in Melbourne arranged for panel meetings if required.
