Allianz, CGU, Chubb and QBE have been revealed as contenders for the annual General Insurer of the Year Award, with the winner set to be announced at the 2017 NIBA Convention in Sydney on Monday 11 September.
Nearly 1,000 NIBA member brokers rated insurers’ products and services in a range of categories as part of the annual Broker Market Survey.
“The vote was again extremely close this year and our finalists are to be commended for ensuring their services and products meet the needs of brokers and their clients,” says Dallas Booth, NIBA CEO.
Allianz Australia Managing Director Niran Peiris says: “We’re very proud to be shortlisted for NIBA’s General Insurer of the Year Award, which is recognition of the solid relationships that Allianz has with the Australian broker community.
“We continue to build relationships with our broking partners that are based on trust and collaboration, which is critical to the success of Allianz’s 2020 strategy. Thank you to NIBA and to all the brokers who nominated Allianz.”
Our second finalist, CGU claimed the top spot in 2016 – the second time in a row for the company.
IAG’s Executive General Manager Business Distribution Ben Bessell says: “CGU Insurance and its parent company IAG are honoured to be considered for the NIBA General Insurer of the Year Award.
“This recognition is a credit to our people and broker partners who go above and beyond to deliver outstanding service and innovative new solutions for our customers.
“Thanks also to NIBA for their valuable contribution to our industry and support to their members.”
Meanwhile, this is the first time that Chubb has made it into the finals.
“At Chubb, insurance is a craft. Consider the precision and expertise associated with finely crafted things; our team applies this to insurance,” said John French, Chubb Country President, Australia & New Zealand. “This year we have earned accolades for our claims and customer service, built on strong relationships with brokers; launched market leading products and helped our team members take big strides forward in their careers. I am very proud to see this work acknowledged via our nomination as NIBA’s 2017 General Insurer of the Year.”
Finally, QBE has again made it as one of the finalists. It had in fact been the winner for 11 consecutive years from 2002 to 2012.
Jason Clarke, Executive General Manager, Intermediary Distribution, QBE says he is delighted that QBE is again being recognised as a finalist for the NIBA General Insurer of the Year award. “The intermediary market is an incredibly important and significant part of our business, so it’s a particularly great honour for us to be acknowledged by the hundreds of brokers who take part in the voting process,” he says. “Thank you to NIBA for this recognition and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Convention next week.”
