Global broker’s big plans for Melbourne

Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) have made a bold statement on the importance of the Australian market, opening in Melbourne their third largest office worldwide.

Beaten in size only their New York and London locations, MMC’s Melbourne headquarters have been relocated to the city’s new Collins Square development.

MMC, which includes broker Marsh and reinsurance intermediary Guy Carpenter, has more than 1500 employees based at the new headquarters.

Marsh Australia CEO John Clayton says: “Our new Melbourne home offers all the best that this city has to offer, with a Docklands address, premium facilities and strong sustainability features.”

“Most importantly, the building allows for the flexibility to suit our evolving needs as we grow into the future.”

MMC Australian Chairman Peter Promnitz says: “It’s always been our goal to bring our operating companies together under the one roof to share knowledge and resources.”
