IAG is ‘simplifying’ its operating model by creating a single Australian division, to be lead by current Chief Operating Officer Mark Milliner.
Milliner will become CEO Australia with immediate effect.
“The new structure will make it easier for people to do business with us, boost our productivity and allow us to deliver great experience to our customers today and into the future,” says Peter Harmer, IAG Managing Director and CEO.
The restructure brings together the Australian Consumer, Australian Business, Operations and Satellite Divisions; as well as centralises accountability for the customer, product, distribution and operations for IAG’s brands, including NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI, SGIO and SGIC.
“It will allow us to better leverage our investment in new and emerging technologies to further improve the customer experience and create a successful and enduring company,” Harmer says.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Australian Business Division Ben Bessell becomes Executive General Manager Business Distribution, reporting to Milliner.
However, Chief Executive Australian Consumer Division Anthony Justice will leave IAG. Harmer wished him success for the future, adding that he had been a valuable member of the team.
IAG will report its FY17 results on Wednesday 23 August.
