ICARE HBCF LAUNCHES ONLINE SELF-SERVICE PORTAL

icare General Manager, Home Building Compensation Fund (hbcf), Jon East has announced the launch of the new hbcf Builder Self-Service Portal, an online self-service portal which gives builders greater visibility and access to their builders warranty insurance policy.

East believes, icare is transforming builders warranty insurance by bringing it into the digital age. “To enable this goal, icare has developed a Builder Self-Service Portal. It will deliver a faster and simpler way for builders to get on top of their insurance requirements, and get back to their core business – building residential projects for a better New South Wales,” he said.

Before launching the portal, icare hbcf held collaboration workshops with members of the building industry to get customer feedback on its design, ease-of-use and functionality.

MJH Group Divisional Financial Controller, Adrian White, said as a leading Australian residential construction group, it was valuable for MJH to be involved in testing the portal as part of icare’s collaboration workshop.
“icare provided the opportunity to be involved in testing the new portal before it went live. This was extremely valuable as it ensured that the portal can manage our business needs and we’re now actively using it daily,” he said.

Master Builder Australia Insurance Services NSW State Manager Mark Barnes said icare’s innovative approach to customer engagement through co-design is exactly what the industry needs to stay ahead of the curve and join the digital age.

“2017 is a bumper year for construction in NSW. icare’s digital initiative makes managing the essentials of hbcf insurance easier, and gives builders greater certainty, which is essential at such a busy time for our industry,” Barnes said.

“It will provide peace of mind for builders when quoting projects, submitting applications, checking limits 24/7 and closing projects,” he said.

The portal delivers the following major improvements for builders, including the ability to:  View your own eligibility limits and risk-based pricing profile;
 Obtain quotes for projects (excluding broker distributor service fees);
 Review current utilisation of eligibility limits;  Submit new policy applications;
 Mark construction projects as completed; and  View builder-specific reports and certificate data.

To register for the icare Builder Self-Service Portal, builders should speak with their hbcf distributor or broker.
