Australia’s first indigenous-owned and Supply Nation-certified broker, Origin Insurance Brokers, has become an authorised representative of Marsh.
“Aligning Marsh with organisations that share our values is an important part of our vision for growth, and I am delighted to be working with Origin Insurance Brokers,” says Scott Leney, CEO of Marsh. “As an authorised representative of Marsh, Origin will tap into the full range of our offering for clients, further fulfilling Origin’s aim to deepen the links between corporate and indigenous Australia. We look forward to working in partnership on this important goal.”
Under the deal, Origin will ‘collaborate’ with Marsh to continue to offer Supply Nation-certified solutions to its clients.
Origin’s founder and CEO David Liddiard OAM said authenticity was important in such a partnership. “Marsh is genuinely committed to improving opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and offers Origin the values and leadership required to make a real difference.”
Adam Rhodes, Managing Director of Origin, says this deal will allow Origin brokers to provide best-in-class risk advisory and broking services to companies that support indigenous suppliers, and to attract indigenous business.
“Partnering with Marsh brings Origin a big step forward in its mission to use insurance as a vehicle to help close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.”
Origin was established by Liddiard in 2015 and it promotes indigenous engagement with corporate Australia by helping businesses and government organisations meet their indigenous procurement targets, which helps create long-term sustainable work opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
With this move, Marsh is continuing its evolution from being a big city broker. Early this year, leading rural and financial services provider Landmark became an AR of the Marsh Advantage Insurance network.
