NIBA President Tim Wedlock welcomed the leaders of the insurance broking industry in Australia to a special leaders meeting at NIBA offices in Sydney recently.
Present at the meeting were Andrew Boal from Willis Towers Watson, David Duffield representing Scott Leney from Marsh, Gary Gribbin from IBNA, Nick Harris from Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Robert Kelly from Steadfast, Sarah Lyons from Gallagher, and Mark Searles from AUB Group.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the state of the insurance broking industry in Australia, and to discuss the role and support provided by NIBA to assist the industry. There were significant discussions about the major issues and challenges facing insurance brokers at the present time.
Industry leaders confirmed the role and purpose of NIBA and its three core objectives: Representation, Professionalism and Community.
While the leaders represented businesses that were strong competitors in the market place, they came together to discuss the future of insurance broking in Australia from a total industry perspective. They also confirmed the important role NIBA plays on behalf of its members and the industry.
Tim Wedlock expressed his sincere appreciation to all the leaders and their respective organisations for the support they provide to their industry association – financial and otherwise.
More on this meeting in the next issue of NIBA’s Insurance Adviser magazine that will be on the stands in the first week of March.
