McLardy McShane Insurance Brokers has raised over $105,000 at its charity golf event at Portsea GC to support FightMND, the organisation headed by AFL Legend Neale Daniher working to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
McLardy McShane Group CEO Don McLardy said “We couldn’t have done this without the support of our sponsors and the dedication of all who attended. We’re a business built on relationships and shared values, and this just demonstrates how we can harness the power of our network to benefit this worthy charity. MND is a heartbreaking disease but with the help of our clients and friends we’ve shown that we can come together as a community and do something about it.”
The event kicked-off with a Canadian Foursome-style golf tournament at a star-studded field including Front Bar comedy duo Mick Molloy and Sam Pang. This year’s field faced extreme weather with over 83 kilometre per hour winds and drenching downpours, but the majority of golfers persisted.
McLardy said, “After arguably the worst golf weather conditions you can imagine, I’m very impressed at the commitment of all involved. In the end we had a great day and an even better outcome than we expected! We can’t wait until next year to do it all again.”
