Chubb has announced the appointment of Ian Mullins to the position of Environmental Risk Underwriter for Australia.

Mullins is an experienced Environmental Consultant, who will play a key role assisting brokers and clients in determining appropriate insurance solutions for their environmental risks.

Throughout his career, Mullins has project managed a diverse range of environmental planning and impact assessment projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Western Australia.


EBM Insurance Brokers has appointed Stephen Rinder to the newly created role of General Manager – Broking (East). Rinder will be based in the company’s Sydney office and will have responsibility for the NSW, VIC and QLD markets.

Rinder has over 25 years’ industry experience in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and London. EBM’s Executive Chairman, Alan Bishop, said: “Stephen’s broad experience and track record of success in the industry is a great asset in helping to further developing EBM’s service and product offering reach into eastern states’ market. He will also help to unify the activities of our offices on the eastern seaboard.”


NIBA’s Communications Manager, Neal Maidment, will leave his role this week to take up a new position in Arthur J. Gallagher’s marketing team.

Maidment joined NIBA in January 2013 in the Communications Manager role, having previously edited NIBA’s Insurance & Risk Professional magazine since September 2011. He begins his new role at AJG on 14 June.


National Transport Insurance (NTI) has announces the appointment of Frank Malvaso as its new National Manager – Business Development.

Malvaso has a track record in managing and developing strategic relationships, most recently as the Broker Development Manager for Arthur J. Gallagher. Prior to joining Arthur J. Gallagher’s, Malvaso worked as Lumley’s National Relationship Lead, looking after the OAMPs and Marsh partnerships.

He will commence his new role on 6 July 2016.


Sarah Harland will join Suncorp Group as its executive team as Chief Information Officer on 1 September 2016.

Harland joins from Medibank Private where she held the role of Executive General Manager, Technology and Operations. Previous roles include General Manager Group Technology for ANZ Bank and CIO roles at the National Health Service in the UK and QWEST Communications in the USA.

In her new role at Suncorp, Harland will lead the Group’s technology and business intelligence strategy, with responsibility for all technology, digital enablement, cloud and infrastructure, protective services, Chief Data Office, projects and programs and innovation labs function.

XL Catlin

Lloyd Haynes has been appointed as XL Catlin’s Senior Underwriter, International Casualty covering the Asia Pacific market.

Haynes has worked in the insurance industry for more than 10 years and XL Catlin from Allied World Assurance, where he was Assistant Vice President for General Casualty. He will based in Singapore.
