ARPC General Counsel appointed

Janice Nand has been promoted to a new position of General Counsel on the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) senior executive team. Nand joined ARPC in February 2019 as Senior Manager, Governance, Compliance and Board Secretariat.

Dr Christopher Wallace, ARPC Chief Executive said, “I welcome Janice to the senior executive team. As General Counsel Janice brings a valuable legal skillset to the senior executive team which will strengthen our organisational governance and leadership.”

Nand joined ARPC from the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services industry where she worked as a Director, Report. Before her role with the Royal Commission, she worked as a Partner with HWL Ebsworth Lawyers in Canberra and with Sparke Helmore Lawyers in Sydney in addition to the role of Country Counsel with Boeing in Sydney.

IAG appoints Group General Counsel

IAG Managing Director and CEO Peter Harmer has announced the appointment of Peter Horton as Group General Counsel.

Harmer said, “I am pleased to welcome Peter to IAG. His considerable experience across a range of industries will enhance the way we meet our obligations, in an increasingly complex
environment.”

Horton is expected to join IAG by the end of 2019 from TransGrid, where he is Executive Manager Legal, Governance and Risk. Prior to TransGrid, he was Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at QBE Insurance and before that, Woolworths.
