Insurer appoints APAC Marine Risk Engineer

XL Catlin’s insurance operations today announced the appointment of Jarek Klimczak as Marine Risk Engineer for Asia Pacific. In his new role, Mr. Klimczak will be responsible for providing marine risk consulting for cargo, hull and machinery risks. He will be based in Singapore.

As a qualified Captain and Master Mariner, he spent almost three decades in the shipping and logistics industry and brings invaluable technical expertise to our underwriting capabilities. Mr. Klimczak has 27 years’ experience, with extensive Project Cargo and Project management expertise within the shipping and logistics industry. He joins XL Catlin from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Singapore Branch where he held the position of  Senior Marine Risk Consultant. Prior to Allianz, Mr. Klimczak had worked at BBC Chartering in Singapore and Thorco Shipping in Germany as Port Captain.
