An international player has announced that it has acquired a Sydney-based insurance agency, effective immediately.
Ironshore International’s acquisition of the Savannah Insurance Agency will see the Sydney based team of underwriters join Ironshore Australia’s offices.
“Ironshore’s acquisition of the Savannah Agency further expands our experienced underwriting team and enhances our breadth of product offerings in specialty lines within the regional market,” says Ironshore Australia Managing Director Katherine Simmonds, who is overseeing the integration of the entities.
The Savannah Insurance Agency was founded in 2009 by Julian Sparkes, who previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of A.J. Gallagher, Australasia.
The Savannah Agency is an established Lloyd’s coverholder and underwrites various lines of business, including Personal Accident, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability and Property.
Ironshore International Chief Executive Officer Mark Wheeler says: “Ironshore is continuing to build upon its strategic foundation of uncovering growth opportunities in selected specialty sectors within key markets, such as Australia.”
Ironshore Australia underwrites a range of property and casualty lines, including Mergers & Acquisitions and Tax Liability, Political Risk, Trade Credit, Marine Cargo, as well as Agriculture commercial risks.
