Leo Demer, CEO, JLT Australia, has won the Lifetime Achievement award at icare’s 2017 Care and Service Excellence (CASE) Awards held in Sydney.
The Lifetime Achievement award recognises the continual contribution and outstanding achievements of an individual for their leadership and commitment to the betterment of the workers’ compensation industry. Demer was presented with the coveted award for his pivotal role in revolutionising and improving the workers compensation industry in Australia over the past 30 years.
icare CEO, Vivek Bhatia has said, “These awards are designed to recognise excellence in providing services to customers and in the process raise industry standards so that we create a better experience for those who are impacted by workplace injury and improve the way we provide services…”
Reacting to the win, Demer said, “I’m honoured and humbled to receive such a prestigious award. It’s an absolute privilege to lead a client focused organisation like JLT, and I’m proud of the increasingly important role JLT plays in supporting businesses to better manage risks affecting their people.”
Nick Harris, Deputy CEO, JLT said, “Over the last 30 years, Leo has made significant contributions to the workers compensation industry, improving outcomes for Local Government where one in three workers were injured, to only one in 20 today – delivering on average 30 per cent in premium savings to Councils.”
Demer was also instrumental in creating the first ever, fully integrated national ‘whole of people risk’ offering to the market.
