The finalists for the NSW regional NIBA Broker of the Year and Young Professional Broker of the Year were announced recently and you can now get to know a little more about them.
The Broker of the Year Award, sponsored by QBE, goes to an individual broker who is deemed an inspirational role model for the broking community.

John Duncan of JMD Ross Insurance Brokers leads a team of 21 brokers and admin personnel and has been a part of the industry for over thirty years.
David Michell of Protectors Insurance Brokers works closely with young professionals in the industry as a mentor and has been in working in the industry for over thirty years.
Kirsty Teer of Aon leads and mentors her team of client executives in Canberra and has been a part of the industry in excess of twenty years.
The Young Professional Broker of the Year Award, sponsored by Vero, recognises the broking industry’s rising stars under the age of 35.

Craig Anderson of Austbrokers is Tier 1 compliant broker with 14 years experience in insurance broking.
Diego Calefato of MBA Insurance Services Pty Ltd is a NIBA College and QBE Equip Program graduate.

Arthur Hatzinikolis of Austbrokers SPT is a NSW Supreme Court solicitor and has a Diploma in Financial Services.
Laura Makary of Insure Pty Ltd has a Masters in Business and Finance, a Tier 1 qualification in insurance and is also a Certificate IV – Mortgage Finance Brokering
Irish Peters of Aon Risk Solutions is currently pursuing a combined degree, Bachelor of Business and Commerce- Accounting and Bachelor of Laws, as a final year student.
Michael Pham of Nsure is a Workcover NSW accredited return to work coordinator and has been in insurance for over 10 years.
The NSW/ACT region winners will be announced at the NIBA NSW Gala Lunch on July 13 at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney. Register here. The state winners will go on to compete for the Warren Tickle Memorial Award for Young Professional Broker of the Year, which is awarded at the 2018 NIBA Convention in Hobart, Tasmania.
