Mike Hutchinson resigns from NIBA’s Board of Directors

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has thanked Mike Hutchinson for his outstanding contribution to the Board.

In May 2017 Mike Hutchinson was appointed to the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) Board of Directors as the Marsh representative.

Last month, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. completed the acquisition of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT), and consequently, Mike has stepped down from the NIBA Board, leaving Gary Okely to continue his tenure on behalf of the combined Marsh and JLT business.

The NIBA Constitution specifies that “only one director, employee or representative of or partner of any Principal Member may be a Director at any one time”.

NIBA President Eric Harris, says: “Mike has been an outstanding contributor, the experience and knowledge developed through his years of servicing clients, and as a senior leader in our profession, has allowed him to provide fantastic insight into many of the issues we have discussed.”

“Mike has committed to continue to support the great work NIBA does, wherever possible. I would like to thank him greatly for the support he has shown.”

NIBA Director and past President Tim Wedlock acknowledges Mike’s commitment and contribution: “Like the rest of our board directors, Mike brought a level of knowledge and opinion that greatly assisted, especially in a time where areas such as the Royal Commission took a lot of our time and focus.”

“It has been a pleasure working with him, and we thank Mike for his tenure.”
