New cluster group CEO says member engagement key

Insight has a new CEO at the helm and says his goals for the cluster group’s future will be guided by the needs of its members.

David McKinnis has replaced Moira Kemp after her departure earlier this year and has previously held senior posts at Allianz Global, Wesfarmers Insurance and Stream, as well as currently holding an advisory board position at ANZIIF.

“We want to continue giving members the personalised service they’ve come to expect from Insight. We’re committed to engaging with their key issues and being at the forefront of developing a proactive not reactive business plan,” he says.

“I bring more than 30 years of experience and in that time I’ve learnt that if you can keep things simple, then everyone’s on the same page.

“Once everyone understands your objectives they’re more likely to get on board with your ideas, because at Insight our core objective is to develop our business on member feedback.”

McKinnis says he intends on using Insight’s size and position in the market as a point of advantage.

“Steadfast and Austbrokers are doing some great work with larger brokerages, and the opportunity is there for Insight as a cluster to really champion and support the SME market,” he says.
