NIBA founding director passes away

One of NIBA’s founding directors, Terry Lane, who also co-founded OAMPS and won the Lex McKeown Trophy four years ago recognising his outstanding service to the industry has passed away.

Lane who was the Managing Director of Midland Insurance Brokers is survived by his wife, Diane and two sons, Damien and Justin who are active in the business. NIBA CEO, Dallas Booth said, “Terry was a father figure to many brokers in the industry, he has also been a mentor and inspiration for me personally. I am very grateful for the guidance and counsel he gave me in my role as CEO.”

“Those of us who worked closely with Terry have lost a friend, confidant and mentor,” Midland Insurance said in a statement. “The company is in mourning and all employees share with Terry’s family and friends the immense sadness of his death. Those of us who worked closely with Terry have lost a friend, confidant and mentor. Terry’s legacy, his vision and the culture which he carefully built within Midlands will be preserved by his sons and Midland co-directors.”
