NIBA hits the road for members

In July’s NIBA Communications Survey, some members expressed concern NIBA was not doing enough to service its members in regional areas. To rectify this, several key members of staff are about to embark on road trips across Australia.

Starting this week, Relationships Manager Nicki Tofler and Caroline Campbell, NIBA’s Elearning Development Manager, will be in Perth to help the NIBA College mentoring program kick off for the first time.

Tofler then heads to Launceston, Hobart and Melbourne from 9-12 September to meet with NIBA member brokers, before moving onto Brisbane with Campbell to establish the NIBA mentoring program in Queensland and visit brokerages from 17-19 September.

Meanwhile, NIBA CEO Dallas Booth will embark on a road show around Far North Queensland at the end of September, where he will visit local brokers in Cairns (23 September), Townsville (24 September), Mackay (25 September) and Rockhampton (26 September).

Mark Bramley of OAMPS, a member of the NIBA NSW Divisional Committee, is also undertaking visits to NIBA member brokerages in northern NSW.

“At NIBA, we aim to meet regional brokers as much as we can to assess firsthand the issues and challenges facing them, and establish any difficulties they face in their local insurance markets, particularly those related to the extreme weather events of the past three years,” Booth says.

“We are always looking for feedback so we can explore ways to better support our members and young professionals in regional areas.”

In addition, NIBA is exploring the option of providing webinars and live streams of its seminars in order for more regional brokers to get involved in our training programs.
