NIBA names finalists for WA Broker of the Year Award

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has revealed the Western Australia region Broker of the Year finalists –  Kim Gilbert from Zenith Insurance Services and Neil Watson from Gibbscorp.

The Broker of the Year Award, sponsored by QBE, goes to an individual broker who is deemed an inspirational role model for the broking community.

QBE Regional Manager for Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia, Peter McLachlan said QBE was proud to work with NIBA to recognise and celebrate the commitment and professionalism of intermediaries in the industry through the Stephen Ball Memorial Award.

“This year’s entries are of an incredibly high calibre. Congratulations to all regional finalists across Australia and particularly those in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia. QBE supports the development of our broker partners as we work together to deliver great customer outcomes.”

NIBA CEO Dallas Booth congratulated the two finalists for Western Australia, adding: “We are delighted to recognise Kim and Neil who have both demonstrated excellence in broking practice.”

On finding out he was a regional finalist, Gilbert said: “It is a privilege to be nominated and recognised for my small contribution to the broking profession and as a finalist, I look forward to continuing to promote the broking profession as a career of choice for people looking for a future in the financial services sector.”

Watson said: “The quality of nominees is always high so it is an achievement just to be a finalist. I believe being named a finalist is recognition of a long-term contribution to the insurance broking profession and to the broader community.”

The Western Australia region winners will be announced at the NIBA WA Gala Lunch on July 27 at Crown, Perth.

The state winner will go on to compete for the Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Insurance Broker of the Year, which will be announced at the 2018 NIBA Convention in Hobart, Tasmania. Register now for early bird rates.
