NIBA15’s big insurance ideas

The wildly popular TED Talks have inspired millions around the world and the short and sharp format is making a welcome return to this year’s NIBA Convention after a successful debut last year.

The Big Insurance Ideas sessions on Tuesday 8 September – part of the Convention’s Allianz Thought Leadership Day – will bring together three leading industry thinkers to take the stage to discuss their take on the most important issues facing the insurance industry now and in future. Each presentation will last for a maximum of 15 minutes.

Peter Blackmore, one of Australia’s foremost international risk advisors and consultants, will be discussing the importance of risk management in protecting your ethical reputation.

Blackmore has 30 years’ experience in leadership and risk advisor roles, including positions held at OAMPS, JLT and Munich Re.

His current role is Director of Global Business Partnering for the human rights group Walk Free, which helps global companies eliminate slavery risk in their chain supplies.

NIBA CEO Dallas Booth will be presenting on professionalism in broking and the future of broker education.

Booth has a broad range of leadership experiences drawn from his time within the industry, including Chief Executive at Asbestos Injuries Compensation Fund and Deputy Chief Executive at the Insurance Council of Australia.

The third speaker will be a spokesperson from Allianz focusing on the insurance implications of wearable technology.

The NIBA Convention is on in Melbourne from 6–8 September and registration is open now. Early bird rates are available until 20 July.
