QBE appoints Regional Manager, Northern Region Broker Distribution, for Australia and New Zealand division – 29 Nov
QBE Australia and New Zealand has announced that Craig Mauger has been appointed to the position of Regional Manager, Northern Region Broker Distribution.
Mauger joins QBE’s Intermediary Distribution business unit, having spent seven years in the Elders Insurance business where he was the Regional Manager, Eastern Region for the past three years. Prior to this he was their Senior Agency Development Manager.
QBE General Manager Broker Distribution, Intermediary Distribution Jason Hammond said: “Craig has a wealth of industry experience and strengths in relationship management and delivering great customer outcomes.
“Craig brings a strong level of leadership to the role and will be a valuable addition to the Broker Distribution National Leadership Team. Having been based in our Brisbane office, Craig is well known to the team in Queensland and is excited about the opportunity to work with the team to deliver on our 2018 plans.”
Mauger commenced in the position on 27 November 2017.
AUB Group CFO resigns
AUB Group has advised of an impending change in the position of Chief Financial Officer via a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange.
Jodie Blackledge has formally resigned her position with AUB Group Ltd to accept a new career opportunity outside of the insurance industry. The note states that, “She will remain with the Group for her notice period of six months which will enable the orderly handover of responsibilities and an external search will be undertaken to find her replacement.”
Blackledge joined AUB Group Ltd in 2015 and has been credited with being instrumental in augmenting the capabilities of the Company’s finance team in a period of significant change within the business.
Gallagher Bassett appoints General Manager – Self-Insurance
Third Party Claims Administrator, Gallagher Bassett (GB) has appointed Ben Sheat to the newly established position of General Manager – Self-Insurance.
Ben joined GB in March 2017 as National Self-Insurance Manager and has more than a decade of experience in the personal injury industry, having served as a practitioner, technical specialist, leader and senior manager in both the self-insurance and workers’ compensation schemes. He will remain in GB’s Melbourne office where, as General Manager, he will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the national self-insurance business unit.
Ben says he is enthusiastic about his new role. “Self-insurance is one of GB’s fastest growing products, so it’s an honour to be able to lead that growth. We have a fantastic self-insurance team here at GB and I’m really excited about what we will achieve together.” He also embraces the changing landscape of self-insurance in Australia, observing: “One of the things I love about the self-insurance industry is that it tends to move quickly, and it’s always evolving.”
Allianz appoints new General Manager – Financial Institutions
Allianz Australia has appointed Dan Tully to the position of new General Manager – Financial Institutions. Tully has had a notable career in retail banking, insurance and digital markets that has spanned more
than 25 years and has occupied senior management roles with both Westpac and Allianz.
Allianz Australia Chief General Manager for Retail Distribution, Michael Winter said, “I welcome the appointment of Dan Tully as the General Manager for Financial Institutions. His wealth of knowledge of retail banking and insurance industries will be a great contribution to our business.
