QBE Foundation charity partner Foodbank are asking for urgent donations to their drought appeal.
Right now, one in five Australian kids don’t have enough to eat, QBE Foundation and Foodbank are determined to do something about it. QBE Foundation is looking to make an emergency grant and there is a donation box at the 2019 NIBA convention for brokers to donate as well.
The ongoing drought is affecting far more people than just those in rural communities. The growth of crops such as rice and grains is being greatly affected making it increasingly difficult to supply families in need with the everyday basics.
Demand for food relief right around the country has never been higher, yet our supplies of fruit and vegetables, rice, grains, milk and meat have plummeted as a consequence of drought. Urgent intervention is required if we are to ensure we can continue to get food relief to the most vulnerable in our communities. For every dollar donated, Foodbank is able to provide $6 worth of food to their 2,600 charities who distribute that food to hungry Aussies doing it tough.
