Risk management awards

Vero has released online videos that showcase how brokers and customers can benefit from a strong focus on risk management, as the deadline for expressions of interest for the 2017 RM Advancer Awards draws nearer.

The RM Advancer Awards recognise and reward the most effective and innovative risk management plans undertaken by Vero and GIO Workers’ Compensation customers and their insurance brokers.

Richard Fenton, Executive Manager, Risk Engineering at Vero hoped the video could inspire brokers and clients to enter an Expression of Interest in this year’s awards before the deadline of 31 July. “When customers see the risk-management case studies of previous winners, they will appreciate that other businesses just like theirs have gained industry praise and the recognition of their peers,” said Fenton.

The video features Trans Tank International, or TTi, and their dedication to improving their workplace safety and hazard management. TTi received a special commendation from the judges at the 2016 RM Advancer Awards for their efforts.

Another similar video features 2015 RM Advancer Award-winner AKD Softwoods as a case study.

Fenton said the videos are compelling stories that also spell out the pivotal role that Vero Risk Engineers played in coaching, advising clients and helping to prevent damaging events from occurring.

“We encourage brokers to use our videos to start conversations with their customers about the benefits of risk management. If you believe your customers are applying leading-edge risk management practices to their business, then it’s time to lodge an expression of interest.”

Nominations for the 2017 RM Advancer Awards are currently open to Vero and GIO Workers’ Compensation customers in a total of five categories: Property Risk Management, Motor Risk Management, Liability Risk Management, the Enterprise Wide Award and, the new category, Workers’ Compensation Risk Management.

Award winners will receive publicity and industry recognition. The prize includes 200,000 Qantas Business Rewards points – enough to see them enjoy a return, business-class flight to Los Angeles.

The 2017 RM Advancer Awards will be presented at an exclusive gala dinner at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney’s Darling Harbour on 26 October. All finalists and their brokers will be invited to attend.
