3Three companies have been lauded for their risk management efforts, with the champions beating a record number of finalists at Vero’s 10th annual RM Advancer Awards, celebrating clients’ efforts in risk reduction.
Timber processor AKD Softwoods, cleaning and facilities management group OCS and gambling entertainment company Tabcorp have taken the trophy in their respective categories.
Scouts Australia NSW also took out the Highly Commended prize for its efforts to reduce liability risks at its upcoming 2016 Jamboree event.
Suncorp Commercial Insurance Executive General Manager Commercial Portfolio Darren O’Connell says that this year’s champions have reason to be very proud of their achievements.
“The record number of finalists meant this year’s competition was extremely tight, so the award winners and the highly commended Scouts Australia should all be very proud of their accomplishment,” O’Connell says.
“Over the past decade, the RM Advancer Awards have been leading the way to promote risk management as a valuable investment in business performance.”
AKD Softwoods won the Property Risk Management Award for its efforts to reduce the risk of fires at its timber processing facilities.
OCS Group won the Motor Vehicle Risk Management Award for the safety management practices and technology it implemented for its commercial fleet.
Tabcorp won the Liability Risk Management Award for its efforts to improve health and safety for its staff and the public at its offices and retail premises.
“There has been an enormous amount of outstanding work undertaken by customers, brokers and risk managers throughout this period. They have led the way for other companies to ensure they have the same strong risk management culture,” O’Connell says.
“These winners, and indeed all the finalists, have set a very high standard for the next 10 years.”
