Individuals, organisations, community groups and the broader community have been invited to make submissions offering their experiences, insights and suggestions to the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements.
The inquiry was established in response to the extreme bushfire season of 2019-20 which resulted in loss of life, property and wildlife; and environmental destruction.
The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) CEO, Dallas Booth has confirmed that NIBA will be making a submission to the Royal Commission on behalf of insurance brokers and has asked members who share their comments and concerns with him via email.
Also known as the ‘Bushfire Royal Commission’ this inquiry will examine how Australia is prepared and coordinated across the Commonwealth, States and Territories to respond to bushfires and other natural disasters as well as mitigation and recovery. You can view our previous article about this here and here.
Submissions will close on Friday, 3 April 2020 and further information about the Royal Commission and its work is available on the Commission’s website.
