As we enter the new month we look back at some of the major transitions that occurred throughout the busy month of March.
Ace have promoted Dragi Kocoski to the role of Property Underwriting Manager NSW.
Previously in a more junior role in the team, Kocoski will be in charge of managing ACE’s portfolio of large commercial property accounts in NSW along with maintaining relationships with brokers.
John French, Australia and New Zealand president for ACE, was pleased with Kocoski’s new position to the team.
“At ACE, we have strong talent and expertise within our team and are well-known in the market for the quality of our people. I am pleased to see another member of the team taking the opportunity to step up to a more challenging role,” he says.
DLA Phillips Fox
Veronica Cress is moving back to DLA Phillips Fox insurance team in Auckland on 3 March.
Coming from DLA Piper, Cress has been working on secondment in Thailand and Sydney for the past two years with experience in civil litigation and insurance.
Landers and Rogers
To help consolidate their presence nationally, law firm Lander & Rogers are expanding to Brisbane on 7 April, opening a litigation practice specialising in insurance and commercial disputes.
Joining them in Brisbane will be Andrew Forbes, a former Partner at DLA Piper, along with Lander & Rogers’ insurance partner Matt Dudakov and Senior Associate Emma Pelka-Caven.
Andrew Wilder, Chief Executive Partner, says opening a branch in Brisbane is just the next step for the company.
“Due to Brisbane’s size, growth potential and synergy with our clients, opening an office there has been part of the firm’s growth strategy for a number of years now,” he says.
“Having an office in there will help us continue to consolidate our firm’s presence nationally.
“We are delighted to have Andrew and his team join us. They have a high profile and strong reputation in the Brisbane legal market and are also an excellent fit with our firm culturally.”
McLardy McShane announced their expansion for 2014 at their annual cocktail evening for brokers at the trendy State of Grace bar in Melbourne last month.
The expansions included opening four new offices in Victoria, the addition of six ARs and acquisitions in Victoria.
They also welcomed Penny Collins and Shamus Hounihan, along with the rest of the CMIB Insurance Services team who joined the group as an AR on 31 March.
