Suncorp

Suncorp Commercial Insurance has boosted the underwriting capacity of two of its specialty teams.

The Professional and Financial Risks (ProFin) team will now have distinct teams dedicated to the commercial and corporate brokers, headed by Andrew Beaver and Steven Lau respectively.

Michael Cooke has been appointed the leader of a specialist technical and product team, which will provide tools and expertise to support the underwriter teams.

Meanwhile, the construction and engineering underwriting teams have been split apart, with Bill Galligan heading up a national engineering team.

Construction underwriting will be managed by four regional managers: Paul Smith (NSW), Nick Aristotelli (Queensland), Maurice Raphael (WA) and David Abbott (Southern region).

Specialty Chief Underwriting and Portfolio Manager Brad Dalton says the relevant markets are growing and the new underwriting structure will enable Suncorp to better respond to demand from brokers.
