Francis Lim is the new Casualty Underwriter for ArgoGlobal Asia.

Lim previously worked at RSA Insurance Group, where he was Head of Professional and Financial Risks in Asia and the Middle East.

ArgoGlobal Asia CEO Ivan Chan says Lim will enhance the service they provide to brokers.

“With his extensive underwriting experience and successful track record working within the Asian market, Francis is a terrific addition to our team and will further enhance our Casualty capabilities and the service we provide to our brokers,” he says.



Elantis have announced that Nick Cunningham has been appointed as the new Australian Head of Distribution.

Cunningham joins Elantis from NAB Wealth and brings a bundle of expertise in business development and sales management.

Elantis Chief Executive Jurgen Rammesmayer says Cunningham will bring leadership to the team.

“Nick’s track record, strategic insights and sales disciplines will be an ideal complement to the strengths of our existing distribution team,” he says.

“In line with our brand promise, Nick will bring energy, a fresh approach and new perspectives to our business and industry sector.”


FM Global

Executive Vice President Thomas Lawson has been promoted to President and elected to FM Global’s board, effective 2015.

Lawson has been working in insurance for more than 30 years and outgoing President Shivan Subramaniam says Lawson will excel in the role.

“I have worked with Tom and Jon for nearly 16 years and have the utmost respect for the countless contributions they have made to help our policyholder-owners be more resilient,” he says.



The ICA have welcomed the members of the Code of Governance Committee (CGC) to their team to overlook the revised General Insurance Code of Practice.

The members of the CGC include Lynelle Briggs as Independent Chair, Julie Maron as Consumer Representative and Ian Berg as Insurer Representative.

ICA CEO Rob Whelan says the team will bring a range of skills to their roles.

“Lynelle Briggs worked with the Australian Public Service for more than 30 years. She was Chief Executive of Medicare from 2009 to 2011 when Medicare was integrated into the Department of Human Services, and was an Australian Public Service Commissioner for five years.

“Ian Berg recently retired as Vice President and Operations Manager Australia for FM Global after 35 years with the group, and spent five years as a director on the ICA Board.

“Julie Maron, Senior Solicitor with Legal Aid NSW, was the consumer representative on the former Code Compliance Committee and represented consumers on the Code Advisory Panel, which worked with Ian Enright during his independent review of the Code.”



Patricia Kleinhans has been appointed as Business Analyst Manager for the development team at Gratex.

Managing Director at Gratex International Australia, Milan Neklapil, says they are delighted with the hiring of Kleinhans, who has 17 years experience in the industry.

“We are delighted to have Pat on Board with Gratex. Pat brings with her a wealth of experience from the insurance industry and plenty of fresh ideas,” Neklapil says.

“We strive to offer the best solutions and service to our customers and I’m confident that her deep understanding of the business requirements of underwriting agencies and insurers will prove to be of great value to them.”



Paul Miller has been appointed as the new General Manager of SSP, a global provider company for insurance technology solutions.

Miller will be based in Melbourne and will be responsible for the Asia Pacific region and the expansion of SSP in the area.

Managing Director of SSP’s Insurer Division Stephen Lathrope says Miller is a great addition to the team.

“We are delighted to appoint someone of Paul’s calibre to drive our growth strategy in this very important market for SSP,” Lathrope says

“He has an excellent reputation in the technology and insurance community and a skillset that fits extremely well with SSP’s core capabilities. His drive and enthusiasm will be instrumental as we continue our growth in Asia Pacific.”



Rado Polic has been appointed as General Manager and Head of Casualty at the Woodina Sydney office.

After 19 years at Brooklyn Underwriting, Polic says he is looking forward to building his future with Woodina.

“This is a start up venture in Sydney and I have been in the agency space now for more than 20 years and I enjoy getting my hands dirty. So the scope here is probably a bit greater so can reacquaint myself with the market,” he says.

“I am looking forward to working with new people, a new team and helping Woodina grow.”
