Transitions: March 2014

March is in full swing with plenty of new appointments and press releases to keep you up to date.



ACE have appointed Mitch van Reyk as State Manager for New South Wales. He will take up the new role on 1 May. Van Reyk joins ACE with over 26 years of experience in the insurance industry with leadership roles in underwriting, reinsurance and broking.

ACE have also appointed Cristin Sullivan as their new Environmental Risk Underwriter for Australia. Beginning her insurance career in the United States, Sullivan will play a key role in allowing business to access insurance coverage for environmental risk in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region.



Don McKenzie has been appointed to the new role of Cerno’s Acting Chief Operations Officer. The role has been created at a time when the company is going through an extensive transformation process. McKenzie’s appointment is on an interim basis but Managing Director Tony Button says a full-time resource will be appointed in due course.


Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford

As of 3 March, Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford launch their Latitude Brokers marine division in Hong Kong. Running the division will beTom Fulford-Smith, accompanied by three senior brokers. Subject to regulatory approval, the division will eventually trade under a separate entity, known as Latitude Brokers Ltd.



Marsh has appointed Janine Fenwick as Pacific Head of Transactional Risk for Private Equity and M&A practice. Fenwick joins Marsh from the American International Group, which she joined in 2008.
