Queensland women have pulled off a rare double, taking home both of the state’s NIBA broker awards at a gala lunch in Brisbane last week.
AMS Insurance Brokers Director Anna Sayers was named Queensland’s Broker of the Year, edging out Whitbread Queensland Manager Vanessa Miller to take home the trophy, putting her in the running for national award. Sponsored by Zurich, that award brings with it a once-in-a-lifetime professional development trip to the US.
Meanwhile, the Young Professional Broker of the Year trophy went to Toowoomba’s Bronte Neville, with JLT Affinity Manager Brent Jaenke and JLT Townsville Account Executive Shantelle Scovell named the runners-up.
Queenscorp Insurance Services’ Neville, who was recently featured in IRP magazine, is now vying for the Vero-sponsored national Warren Tickle Memorial Award, which includes a career-boosting trip to London.
NIBA CEO Dallas Booth says: “Once again we’ve seen finalists of the highest calibre contesting the awards. We’ve had both metropolitan and regional brokers represented here today, indicating the depth of talent in the insurance broking pool right across Queensland. Congratulations to all our finalists, and good luck to Anna and Bronte in the national awards.”
The winners of the national awards will be announced at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne on 7 September.
