The judges’ votes have been tallied and results are in – Victoria and Tasmania’s finest brokers of the year have been announced.
At a gala lunch in Melbourne today, Bunmi Ajayi was named the region’s Broker of the Year, while the Young Professional Broker of the Year award went to Luke Chrzanowski.
Ajayi is the Founder, Managing Director and CEO of Megalines Insurance and Risk Advisers, based in Point Cook. He is an Authorised Representative of Westcourt General.
He got his start in the insurance industry in 1988 and has worked in Australia and internationally, and is a previous winner of a NIBA College CPIB scholarship.
The Zurich-sponsored Broker of the Year award goes to an individual broker who is deemed an inspirational role model for the broking community, who has demonstrated excellence in broking practice and client advocacy.
As the region’s Broker of the Year, Ajayi will go on to compete for the national title, which will be announced at the 2015 NIBA Convention in September and delivers a once-in-a-lifetime professional development opportunity in the US.
Steadfast Taswide Managing Director Nigel Clutterbuck and Arthur J Gallagher Corporate Manager Teresa Westgarth were the award runners-up.
Meanwhile, Tresidder Insurance Group’s Chrzanowski is in the running for the Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle Memorial Award after being named Young Professional Broker of the Year for the region.
He beat out strong competition from Adroit Insurance Group Operations Manager Damon Edwards and Scott Winton Insurance Brokers Sales and Marketing Manager Avi Tatarka.
NIBA CEO Dallas Booth says: “The standards of professionalism and competence in the insurance broking profession are very high, so we congratulate not just our winners, but all our finalists who really represent all that is good about the broker community across Australia.”
