Zurich shakes up Australian team

Zurich Australia has made a swathe of promotions and new appointments, overhauling its teams in Sydney and Melbourne.

A professional cricketer-turned-broker has been named the commercial team’s new National Partnership Manager. Jonathan Moss has been appointed to the role from Finn Foster APB Insurance Brokers.

Before entering insurance, Moss, played for the Victorian Bushrangers, captaining them to victory in 2003/04.

Lori Messori has been promoted from National Broker Manager to Head of Broker Management, while Paul Skene, formerly Senior Marine Underwriter, has been promoted to Victoria/Tasmania Commercial State Manager.

Skene’s predecessor, Chris O’Connor, will stay with Zurich to work on implementing key national strategies.

Zurich Executive General Manager Adrian Riminton says the appointments are focused on strengthening the commercial team’s market-facing capabilities.

Changes have also been made to Zurich’s global corporate team, recruiting from within and from the US. David Chester and Lindsay Urquhart have been appointed Broker Relationship Leaders in the Melbourne office, while Christian Falkingham and Kurt Urquhart have been named Global Relationship Leaders.

Global Corporate Executive General Manager Giles Crowley says: “These appointments reinforce the emphasis and value we place on strong broker and customer relationships. With a global risk landscape evolving at such a rapid pace, close working relationships in each state and territory remain just as critical as the innovative tools and risk engineering resources we bring to understanding a corporation’s risk exposure in whichever jurisdiction they operate.”
